Canadian Natural Gas and Propane Installation Code. The technical standard the TSSA enforces for every Ontario gas appliance installation.

CSA B149.1 (Natural Gas and Propane Installation Code) is the Canadian Standards Association code that governs every gas appliance installation in Canada. Updated every 4 years; the current edition is B149.1-25. Sets gas piping size, venting clearances, combustion air requirements, leak testing, and inspection standards. Ontario incorporates B149.1 by reference and the TSSA enforces it through its Fuels Safety Program. Installers must hold a TSSA G2 (basic) or G1 (advanced) gas technician certificate to perform code-compliant work.
