Regulations and Authorities - Ontario Rebates and Incentives pillar
Also known as: Ontario Energy Board
Ontario Energy Board. The provincial regulator that approves electricity and natural gas distribution rates and oversees consumer protection in energy markets.
The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) regulates the natural gas and electricity sectors in Ontario, approving Enbridge Gas distribution rates, IESO global adjustment, and time-of-use electricity pricing. The OEB also handles consumer complaints about energy contracts (including HVAC rental contracts that are legally classified as energy contracts under Ontario consumer protection law). Their public rate orders are the authoritative source for current Ontario gas and electricity prices.
