Independent Electricity System Operator. The provincial agency that operates Ontario's electricity grid and administers Save on Energy rebates.

The IESO (Independent Electricity System Operator) is Ontario's grid operator and the administrator of conservation programs funded through electricity rates, including Save on Energy and the Home Renovation Savings program. The IESO also publishes hourly demand and supply data and operates the Ontario electricity market. Save on Energy decisions about which equipment qualifies for rebates and at what level are IESO decisions, not Ministry of Energy decisions.
