Ventilation and Acceptable Indoor Air Quality in Residential Buildings. Referenced by ENERGY STAR for New Homes and many municipal codes for HRV sizing.

ASHRAE Standard 62.2 is the consensus residential ventilation standard published by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers. It defines minimum ventilation rates as a function of floor area and bedroom count, sets exhaust capacity minimums, and addresses combustion appliance back-drafting risk. Referenced by ENERGY STAR for New Homes certification, R-2000, and many Ontario municipal codes for HRV sizing. ASHRAE 62.2 is the technical basis Ontario Building Code 9.32 ventilation rates derive from.
